Strategic Planning
Lloyd’s Register aspired for their corporate office to reflect the integrity of their business whilst adopting new change management methods that will foster more teamwork and learning between the working staff. Unlike a conventional office set up, the client wanted an open plan concept that would allow the staff to interact and collaborate more. The open plan should also provision for future expansion and allow the client the flexibility to churn the working area as how they see fit.
The client had also requested that albeit technology is becoming more important in running a business, we had to propose the usage of workplace technology that was meaningful and effective. Our scope of works involved leveraging Lloyd’s Register corporate branding as well by amalgamating the company’s history and how it correlated with local culture. One of our biggest challenges was to ensure that the entire fit-out process – from design development, selection of materials and furniture, all the way to construction methods – to take into great consideration on sustainability and the environment.
Open and transparent, designed as an Activity-Based Workplace with diverse space settings that are multi-functional and will support various tasks. All staff are offered the same size bench desks with some bench desks having the capability to add a supplementary side table. Desk layout is planned in such a way that there are corner zones that offer more privacy and can have an additional guest chair. Different furniture options are available and can be selected to add interest and avoid monotony. There is no dedicated/assigned private offices and all are the same size.
The office layout allows multi-purpose usage and flexibility – converting into meeting spaces.
Planned with zones and neighbourhoods are designed for seat sharing with lockers for all staff and no pedestals whilst team storage that is spread throughout the neighbourhood and around the desks.
This design concept is bright and inviting with a warm look & feel and a balance between Asian and Global elements.
